VACCINEX ANNOUNCES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

ROCHESTER, NY - Vaccinex, Inc. today announced the appointment of Alan Crane and Gerald VanStrydonck to the company's Board of Directors.

Alan Crane is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Momenta Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company located in Cambridge, MA. Mr. Crane was previously Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Development, at Millennium Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for leading Millennium's strategic partnering, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing activities. During his tenure, Mr. Crane built one of the industry's leading corporate development groups, forged strategic alliances that brought over $2 billion of funding to Millennium, and licensed or acquired 19 products. Previously, Mr. Crane was a marketing executive at Dupont-Merck and a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and Arthur D. Little. Mr. Crane received his B.A., M.A. and M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Gerald VanStrydonck is a former managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP with over 30 years of experience providing tax and other financial advice to technology, manufacturing and services companies. Mr. VanStrydonck is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sigma Marketing Group, a marketing consulting group located in Rochester, NY. He serves as a board member of Genesee Valley Trust and St. John Fisher College. Mr. VanStrydonck received a B.B.A. from St. John Fisher College and an M.B.A. from State University of New York at Buffalo.
